North Carolina State Parks, The Nature Conservancy, North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, North Carolina Forest Service, and North Carolina State University, in coordination with the North Carolina Prescribed Fire Council Implementation Committee, are providing an Engine Academy. This training will take place at Haw River State Park March 3rd-9th, 2024. Students will complete S-211 Portable Pumps and Water Use and S-214 Southern Area Engine Operations through several hands-on exercises and some classroom time.

Applications are due January 12th and applicants will be notified on January 19th if they’ve been selected.
There is no registration fee, but students will be responsible for their lodging and meals through the Summit Environmental Education and Conference Center.
