About Our Membership
The North Carolina Prescribed Fire Council, Inc. is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code (effective June 16, 2010) and is qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts. The establishing budget for the non-profit NC Prescribed Fire Council, Inc. includes income from membership dues. The Board approved an individual annual and lifetime membership structure rather than an agency or corporate membership to promote a personal commitment and equality among the members regardless of their position or employer
Membership benefits include:
- Support of the NC Prescribed Fire Council’s mission

Dues
Annual Dues are currently set at $15. The calendar year for the NC Prescribed Fire Council begins August 1 each year. Therefore, annual membership dues are requested by August 1st and should be paid in August or September.
The NC Prescribed Fire Council would like to encourage participation from students and young professionals. As such, the Council has approved a student membership rate. Both graduate and undergraduate students qualify. Students may join for 4 years for $25. This is a $10 savings! Students may join at the student rate at any time. If the student graduates before the end of their 4 year membership, no problem! The membership is valid for 4 years. Students should let the Council know when their e-mail address changes so the Council doesn’t lose track of them.
Lifetime “spark” membership can be purchased for $150.
