Please send in your ballot!  Finally, the Council Board has approved membership dues in order to maintain a budget for our 501c3 status. Read all about it. Thanks to everyone for your support of the Fire Council.

The NC Prescribed Fire Council bylaws call for elections of officers at the annual meeting.  The annual meeting, usually in August, starts the Council year. A new Vice President is elected each year. The Vice President moves into the position of President the next year. The President becomes an at large board member for one year following the term as President. Treasurer and Secretary hold terms are for two years and are offset from one another. Seven at-large board positions also serve offset two year terms. Click here to read more.

In May we received notification from the IRS that the North Carolina Prescribed Fire Council, Inc. is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. The effective date of exemption is June 16, 2010. We are now qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts. In order to receive this status a budget showing annual income and expenditures was provided to the IRS. That budget includes income from membership dues. As such, the NC Prescribed Fire Council Board of Directors recently approved membership dues. Click here to read more.
